Essex

The sun just keeps shining here in the UK! Another beautiful morning even if a bit nippy.

The mill at Flatford
We set set our course for Colchester via Great Dunmow and Braintree. Quant old English  villages steeped in history before arriving at Colchester , the oldest record village in the UK. Times have changed! The centre piece of the visit - the Castle and museum was closed! Had lunch and then moved on to Flatford.

In the heart of the beautiful Dedham Vale lies the charming hamlet of Flatford, the location for some of John Constable's most famous paintings. The mill and cottage can be viewed at leisure or wig a guide. We have decided to call it a day and stay at Flatford for the evening.
