Lavenham

We are starting to settle into this gypsy (not a god term to use in the UK! ) lifestyle or should I call it a nomadic lifestyle - more Australian. Our overnight was near a bird sanctuary and the chorus was rehearsing from 2.00 am -  with the main choir turning up at 4.00am!

We headed north west today to the medieval wool town of Lavenham - and what a delight. The 300 odd listed timber framed houses owed their survival to the industrial revolution missing this part of England. The camera worked overtime - just how many photos can be taken of cute houses!
Lavenham was once one of the wealthiest places in the country. Its famous blue cloth was exported across Europe and beyond.
The village today is famed for its wealth of surviving timber-framed buildings, which make it one of the best-preserved medieval villages in England. One of the finest of these buildings is our Guildhall of Corpus Christi.

... another ...

We also visited an art exhibition which had some great paintings.
... and a painting of one!

Lavenham - should be on every UK visitors itinerary!

We later drive through to Bury St Edmunds where we had to sort out with O2 re our phone!!!!!!

This historic market town was again delightful - particularly the old abbey precinct.
