Wednesday 4th July

What a contrasting morning! An overcast and rainy day. Breakfast with Mathilde and Hansjorg - very lovely and typical German breakfast - breads, meats, etc. 

Also a washing day - stripped beds in the van and collected towels and cloths that needed washing for Mathilde's machines. 

Later we were shown Bad Wildbad - a spa resort that is on the edge of the Black Forest - know to be frequented by crown heads of various countries in the past. The overcast day seemed to enhance the colours of the trees and plants. Thermal pools and health spas are a source for the natural medicine sector eg arthritis, rheumatism etc.

The train to Pforzheim runs down the middle of the street!

Returned later in the afternoon for Mathilde's famous apple cake with generous servings of cream.

Mathilde, Angela, Helene and I went to the Ziegeldachle Retaurant for the long sought after Schweineschnitzel Wiener Art - something we really enjoyed on our last visit- and it didn't disappoint either. A most enjoyable , tasty meal... and very good company too.
