Stendal

Plan for a restful day today after the hurly-burly of Berlin.

A lovely breakfast prepared by Mirko's parents, Rosi and Heinz-Jurgen. What lovely people!

First stop was the windscreen repair shop, CarGlass, to get the chip in the windscreen repaired. Another very pleasant person to deal with. Within half an hour magically the chip had disappeared.

Shopped and moved onto Rathenow for lunch. Found a cool place under some trees, had lunch before moving on to Stendal late in the afternoon for our overnight. Again, found some shade as the day continues to warm.

Stayed under the shade before venturing out and about in Stendal - and what a surprise! A mixture of old and new but still maintaining a friendly atmosphere in the zentrum (centre). Many styles of architecture from the timber framed buildings to high gable Dutch tradition to modern tradition creations. All lending itself to a very pleasant walk in the cooling evening.
